VOLUNTEER

VOLUNTEER AT SANDBACH ANIMAL RESCUE

One of the major ways you can get involved at Sandbach Animal Rescue is by volunteering.  We are in constant need for all types of volunteers at our rescue, for fundraisers and as fosters. Volunteering with SARS can be an extremely rewarding opportunity to give back to the Sandbach community as well as yourself.

By volunteering at our rescue you not only get the satisfaction of caring for potential SARS graduates but you also play a key role in preparing them for their furrever home.  Volunteering also gives you chance to discover new skills you never knew you had, grow confidence and meet new and amazing people who share the same likes!

How can I help?

We value diversity within our volunteer team and welcome applications from every section of our community.

If you want to volunteer at our Sandbach Animal Rescue and learn more about the rescue:

  • You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer without a parent or a guardian at the rescue. Children 12 - 17 years old can volunteer when accompanied by a parent/guardian (restrictions apply).

  • Complete a volunteer application form (for first‐time volunteers). Email address is required.

  • Bring picture ID and proof of address.

  • Spread the message about responsible cat ownership and animal protection.

How much time do I need to give?

We’re looking for reliable and committed volunteers who are able to agree to the times asked for on the role descriptions.

Due to the investment in training of our volunteers we ask you to commit for a minimum of three months if you wish to work at the rescue.

Unfortunately we’re unable to offer short term volunteer roles working directly with the cats due to the induction and training required.

For our other volunteer and fundraising jobs the commitment can be as little as a few hours each month whether it's baking for a coffee morning, working on a stall at the Makers Market, helping transport goods to events (we always like people with big cars/vans) or making us homemade crafts to sell.

The more helpers we have fundraising and supporting the charity consistently ensures we can carry on the crucial job of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming local cats of Cheshire.
